Traffic Problems last night on the M6 in Lancashire

Posted on by admin

2 trucks and a car were involved in an accident last night on the M6 nothbound between junctions 31a (Longridge) and 33 (Galgate).
Working in Preston and the Lancashire Evening Post offices, I used the back roads arond Broughton, Haighton, Wittingham,Brock, Claughton on Brock, Barnacre, Scorton, Dolphinholme and Galgate before finally getting on the motorway at Junction 33.
On one of the numerous motorway bridges I crossed I spotted a lady taking her 2 dogs for a walk on the hard shoulder!

I hope no-one was injured or badly hurt in the accident, but if nothing else, it serves as a reminder to be careful on the roads.

  1. Keith Taylor says:

Working in South Manchester (near the Airport) as I did for 4.5 years, I too used to be quite good at navigating all the back roads around Tatton Park to bring me back to Knutsford and then home to Chester that way whenever the M56 got blocked, which was rather too often, even with the traffic level of 20 years ago. Goodness knows how often it does it now. Fortunately I only have to use it these days to get to the occassional Manchester area gig.
